Fairbar is a social, non-profit café and bar in the center of Aarhus, which engages around 120 volunteers. Their profits go to KFUM KFUK projects where they help people in need - e.g. in Ukraine and South Africa. Fairbar serves a variety of organic and local food, specialty beer on tap and, of course, lots of coffee.
Fairbar is fair. They try to be that in all aspects - including with their food and drinks. Therefore, it is a criteria for them to have a coffee that is both responsible and of high quality.
The result of our collaboration
Meet Jesper and Fairbar
Fairbar is both a café and a bar, located in the middle of Aarhus C, run by volunteers. Hear Jesper, their operations manager, talk about Fairbar, their exciting projects to which their profits go and why they have chosen CleverCoffee. Also, did you know they have a coffee committee? And beer on tap?
"We have chosen to use CleverCoffee because their coffee meets the criteria we have at Fairbar: It is important to us that the coffee meets as many goals as possible in terms of sustainability, CO2 neutrality and also quality - i.e. that it tastes good ."

A look at Fairbar
Coffee setup for cafes
Fairbar's opening hours vary during the week and therefore also their number of guests. The café has a capacity of up to 150 people , although with slightly fewer seats. In order to serve delicious coffee to their guests, Fairbar has a classic and simple coffee setup.
Fairbar's coffee setup consists of:
1 espresso machine, which can deliver up to 150 cups per hour.
1 Filter coffee machine
1 PUQpress, which delivers a uniform tamp every time.
Huskee cups, made from recycled coffee husk.

High demands from a responsible café
Fairbar is a social, non-profit café that engages approx. 120 volunteers. It is a social place where the volunteers often make new networks and friendships. Responsibility and impact are important for the café, where the profits go to welfare projects.
For this reason, Fairbar has high standards for their coffee. It must preferably be responsibly produced, organic, CO2 neutral and of the highest quality. We can fulfill these criteria with the IMPACT series, and thus meet the good and ambitious demands from Fairbar.

Both a bar and café
Fairbar is both a café and a bar and on tap they have specialty beers from various microbreweries.
In addition, Fairbar has a coffee committee, consisting of the volunteers, who together explore and educate the others in coffee brewing, latte art and techniques.
Our coffee can fit into several different solutions and it is useful at Fairbar for both the afternoon coffee and an Espresso Martini later in the day.

Help for training the volunteers
With up to 120 volunteers in the coffee bar, it can be difficult to teach everyone how to brew a good cup of coffee.
As part of our service, Fairbar has access to our online e-learning platform. Here, their volunteers can access courses on espresso brewing, latte art, cleaning machines and much more.
It can relieve the work of training new ones and at the same time give the volunteers the opportunity to delve into details and improvements together.
