STEP 5: Cleaning the Heylo milk module
Proper cleaning is very important for the lifespan of the milk module - but certainly also for the taste!
On this page you will be guided through cleaning the Heylo milk module:
- Daily cleaning
- The weekly cleaning
- Heater cleaning
Introduction to cleaning
- On the Heylo milk module, the system is automatically flushed with water after each milk shot. This means that there is never any old milk in the system that could affect taste, health and quality.
- It is important to clean your equipment regularly. Both because it keeps your equipment in good condition, but also because a lack of cleaning can affect the taste of the coffee.
- You should perform this cleaning procedure, also called ' Sanitary cleaning ', every day. We recommend doing it at the end of the day so that the milk frother is clean and ready for the next day.
- Additionally, you must complete the weekly cleaning procedure once a week. See the Weekly Cleaning Review section.
- Occasionally the machine will prompt you to perform a "Heater Cleaning". See the section for a review of Heater Cleaning.

Daily Cleaning: Step-by-Step
- Use a pump of cleaning fluid from Caye (or similar) into a 1.5-2 liter container.
- Take the hoses from the milk in the refrigerator and place them in the container. Make sure they reach all the way to the bottom.
- Select the ' Sanitary cleaning ' cleaning program on the Menu.
- Press the "start" button. Place a jug under the milk spout.
- The cleaning program then runs completely automatically, there is nothing you need to do in the meantime.
- When the program is finished, you can put the tubes in the milk you will be brewing with next. The tubes can also be left in the refrigerator until the next time you need to froth milk; then you simply put the tubes in the new milk.

Service and maintenance
The machine is easy to service and keep running.
It is important to do both the daily and weekly cleaning as well as the heater cleaning program when the machine requests it.
If you still have problems with your machine, you are always welcome to call or write to us and we will look into it.

Weekly Cleaning: Step-by-Step
Once a week, the induction coils in the milk module should be physically cleaned. This is done by following the steps below:
- The lid must be removed first.
- Press one collar in and remove the hose from the right side.
- Unscrew the two, then remove the coils individually.
- The coils should now be cleaned with a soft brush, warm water and soap.
- Make sure there is no milk residue on the coils. Rinse off at the end.
- Reinstall with the spring inward.
- Screw the thread back on and reassemble the hose between the two.
- Put the lid back on and you're done.

Heater Cleaning: Step-by-step
Heater cleaning should be performed when the display at the bottom indicates that heater cleaning is required. This can be done at the end of the day and is done as follows:
- You start by turning the menu to heater cleaning.
- Next, find a container where you fill 50ml of water and 50ml of milk cleanser (two pumps).
- This is placed in the refrigerator, where the two milk hoses are placed in the bottom of the container - make sure that the hoses reach the bottom of the container so that they can suck up all the liquid.
- Then press start on the menu, after which it must stand for 20 minutes.
- Then start the daily 'Sanitary cleaning ' described in the video 'Daily Cleaning ' and you're done.
