Sookoo Qabbale
An Ethiopian Favorite
It's time for one of our favourites. You may remember this delicious Ethiopian coffee from February but now it's back from a new harvest!
The taste of the coffee is both sweet and fruity with shades of blueberry, bergamot, peach, lemon peel and jasmine. This coffee is grown in the shade of the jungle, which – with the location and altitude – affects the taste of the coffee. We have worked hard to highlight the inherent Ethiopian flavour nuances with our roasting technique.
Cultivated in the Heights
In the Guji zone of the Oromia region of Ethiopia, you will find Sookoo Coffee, a washing station managed by Ture Waji.
The Guji Zone is located in the highlands, which means the climate is colder than what you would normally see for growing coffee. Sookoo Coffee is working to achieve organic certification and make their business more responsible.
Because this coffee is processed naturally, not much water is used at the mill, which minimises water pollution and benefits both the environment and the population.
