Misiones Java Natural
Java from Colombia
This October we are proud to present Misiones Java Natural: an extremely tasty java coffee from Café Misiones in Colombia. This coffee is not only a tribute to coffee craftsmanship, but also to our close and loyal partnership with Café Misiones, which began back in 2018.
A farm with a long history
Café Misiones is located two hours south of Bogotá in Colombia and was founded 100 years ago. Over the years, they have worked hard to create coffee of the highest quality while taking responsibility for the environment and their local community. They are known for their sustainable production methods, where no pesticides are used and where clean drinking water and good working conditions are the focus.
By partnering with farms like Café Misiones, CleverCoffee ensures that the coffee we trade comes from farmers who work under decent conditions, and that it comes from a farm that does what it can to minimise its environmental footprint .
Return of the Missions Java
You may have seen the Misiones Java before in our range, we had a washed version a few years ago. Over the years, Misiones has fine-tuned their processing and fermentation. With the help of coffee expert Ricardo Villegas, they have worked together to get the best out of each and every bean.
The coffee is natural processed and has been fermented for 160 hours. Due to the cool climate, it is in no way over-fermented.
One of the very interesting flavors we have experienced at the cupping table is a sweet taste of cola as well as the taste of natural cola nut, canned apricot and mild green apples. This coffee has a fruity taste but with a low and soft acidity.
