THE ENTHUSIAST for black coffee from Bonavita imitates the pour-over method used by baristas when making hand-brewed coffee. The pour-over method provides a better opportunity to achieve balanced flavour profiles when brewing coffee.

This machine differs from a regular coffee maker in several ways:

Accurate and advanced water temperature gauge

The right water temperature is crucial when brewing drip coffee. Too low, too hot, or fluctuating water temperature can result in uneven extraction and a less enjoyable flavour experience. Bonavita's THE ENTHUSIAST is highly accurate in hitting the optimal temperature and manages to maintain the water at the right temperature of 91°-96°C throughout the brewing process.

Option for pre-infusion

THE ENTHUSIAST can be set to perform a pre-infusion, a pre-wetting of the coffee. This pre-wetting allows the coffee to bloom a bit before the actual brewing begins.

Shower head design

When the hot water is poured over the ground coffee, it doesn't come from a single small hole in the middle but from multiple holes distributed like a shower head over the coffee. This provides a more even extraction, reminiscent of coffee brewed by hand.
