Are you our new roastery assistant?

Currently, we are seeking a temporary roastery assistant to join our operations team, as one of our roastery assistants will be on maternity leave. This position is not necessarily permanent, but we anticipate that a contract extension may be feasible as we welcome new customers continuously.

About the job

As a Roastery Assistant, you will be an important cog in the machine, that is CleverCoffee. You will take part in the daily production roasting, packing and sending coffee, and helping with various ad hoc tasks.

The day-to-day work at CleverCoffee is very dynamic. We are a relatively small team doing big things, which means we are all contributing in many different ways. While the everyday routines are consistent - no two weeks are the same.

Some days will consist entirely of roasting and sending out coffee, others will be doing mostly office-related tasks. Some days you’ll be mainly out of the house, while others again may contain elements of all three.

You will report to our Head of Coffee, Lindy, and work closely with the rest of the team. We all help each other daily so that our customers experience extraordinary coffee and world-class service every day.

We need your help with the following:

  • Daily production roasting
  • Packing and sending coffee and gear to our customers
  • Using your coffee knowledge to assist the other team members
  • Taking on technical tasks like assisting our customers with their coffee setup
  • Helping out our customers via mail or phone - in the best ways we can
  • Taking part in quality control via production cupping
  • Provide ad hoc support to your colleagues - just like they do to you
  • Sample roasting and cupping of new coffees

What we would like to see

The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, a keen eye for detail, and good communication skills. We value people skills over technical skills but if you can manage both you would probably fit right in.

Having a basic understanding of specialty coffee will be an advantage to educate and engage with our customers, and to assist our other teams.

In our operations team, you must be able to develop good routines and manage your time efficiently, to maintain a high level of consistency and to keep an overview of the production system.

While we mostly communicate internally in Danish, being able to speak the language is not strictly necessary. However, having good communication skills in English is important.

At CleverCoffee, you will be part of a small but innovative coffee company, where you will learn about sustainability and positive impact at the highest level. You will receive thorough training in our approach to sustainability; in return, you bring the capacity for overview, structure, and customer service, which we need.

Being in the roastery will be somewhat physically demanding, but we’re constantly trying to improve our workflow while keeping ergonomics in mind, to create a safer environment.

As this position is as a maternity leave substitute, it is not necessarily permanent. However, there is the possibility of contract extension after the temporary position ends.
